The Georgia Council On Substance Abuse
“As we move deeper into the COVID-19 national emergency, secondary medical issues begin to manifest themselves. Isolation is the number one factor in recovery from both addiction and mental health issues. Combined with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty, it is essential Georgia address the inevitable mental health and addiction / recovery issues which will grow themselves. The opposite of addiction is human connection. The longer people are isolated, the greater the possibility of return to use, and given that early recovery is very fragile, people seeking recovery need to know there are those of us out here who are successfully living in recovery,” as shared in a Message from The Georgia Council On Substance Abuse.

Virtual resources are critical for individuals facing addiction / recovery as well as family members. These resources are:

  1. Georgia Council on Substance Abuse is hosting virtual town halls weekly, you can access on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GeorgiaRecovers/
  2. Georgia Council on Substance Abuse peer recovery coaches are answering the phones for calls or texts, from 8:30 AM – 11:00 PM, seven days per week at 844-326-5400.
The CARES Warm Line is FREE, confidential, and available to anyone who has questions about addiction and recovery, needs someone to listen to them, or just needs to communicate with someone who is also in recovery from Substance Use Disorders.
  3. GCSA is excited to announce the expansion of our Virtual All Recovery Meetings to include the weekend. Please spread the word and invite anyone and everyone from anywhere.

Pyramid Family Behavioral Healthcare…We Bring Behavioral Healthcare Closer to Home
The Atlanta metropolitan area is home to almost six million people and continues to grow. At the same time, however, there has been a long-standing gap in treatment services for adolescents and adults suffering with depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues requiring more than just a once per week therapy visit. Due to this need, the PFBH team crafted a vision for a progressive program that not only meets this need, but does so by exceeding all standards for excellence in quality clinical care.
